Commissioned by the Barr Foundation, a major regional philanthropic institution supporting visionary arts, climate, and education initiatives, this ongoing assignment demands a versatile visual suite. The practice bridges formal executive/staff portraiture with live field reportage, capturing the foundation’s internal leadership alongside the real-world impact of its grantee organizations across New England.
FIELDWORK & DIRECTORIAL METHOD
Operating across fast-paced event environments, administrative offices, and variable field sites, the methodology balances structural precision with human-centered intimacy. For staff sittings, a portable, low-profile lighting rig creates an inviting atmosphere that helps subjects feel at ease while delivering polished institutional standards. In the field, the approach shifts to quiet observation—documenting moments of joy, collaboration, and community leadership without disturbing the natural flow of foundation programming.
